Online Video

When DWJ was founded, we delivered first two-inch, then 3/4-inch tapes to television stations by mail.  That practice has disappeared since the advent of satellite feeds and, more recently, digital delivery. The goal was always to please the gatekeepers at the stations. But now there is the Internet and the opportunity to reach out directly to viewers who are interested in our stories, who actively seek out the information available in our video press releases, SMTs and marketing videos.

"Ultimately, DWJ has turned to podcasting and other online distribution methods to keep up with rapidly changing media consumption patterns," says Rob Miller, DWJ's chief of information technology.  "No longer are we tied to our television sets to get our information.  We take our portable media players or cell phones with us wherever we go and get the news on our terms."

True, the online audience is fragmented and does not rival local television or network newscasts in size, but it is growing, particularly among Generations X and Y (and probably Z by now).  When they want to know something, they go online.  They are actively seeking information many of our clients want them to have.  They are the target audience.

The trend provides an opportunity to extend the reach of our video press releases, SMTs and marketing tapes by changing them into podcasts --podcasts that are posted on our moreaboutthat.info site and viewed and/or downloaded  through multiple search engines and from the iTunes podcast store.  We also upload our video to Google Video.

We've been producing Webcasts since the turn of the new century, but online video is fast becoming the destination of choice for millions of Americans. We think it is a good place for most client's messages.
