The importance of comprehensive, strategic media pitching cannot be overstated. Our media specialists spend all day, every day contacting producers and editors. In e-mails and faxes, on the phone and on social networks, they know how to get right to the point when telling producers, reporters, assignment editors, Web editors and public service directors why they should be interested in a particular story. And when they aren't pitching, they're researching the wires and the Web, so that they can customize their pitches with localized information.

Satellite Media Tours
Booking satellite media tours starts with persistence and good media contacts, but newsworthiness is the key element to success. DWJ can book your media tour with as little as four hours notice, if it's breaking news. For most tours, we notify stations two to eight weeks in advance of the date, with booking continuing until the day of the satellite media tour. Our team of experts reaches out to their established media contacts on a daily basis. We have a good reputation and our credibility is very important to us and the media.

Radio Media Tours
We pitch radio media tours to national radio networks, regional radio networks and local affiliates and can target our pitching based on your targeted demographics. When booking a radio media tour, we try to schedule interviews during a specified block during morning drive time. However, we find that fitting into radio news and talk programming tends to require some flexibility. We bring all requests for radio interviews outside the block to you, for approval first, before booking them.

Internet Media Tours
For the Internet, We pitch to online editors of top sites based on your targeted demographics. We offer a video copy of the interview so editors can post it to their sites.

VNRs/EPKs/Feeds/B-roll
Our pitching success begins with keeping close tabs on what's high on the media agenda. Using the Web and special news tracking programs, we know what the networks are doing and in some cases even get scripts in advance of broadcast. We also follow the same news sources that reporters and assignment editors watch in their newsrooms. That research helps us to add news value to our media pitches. We also pitch differently to different producers, based on local angles, demographics, beats and timely news angles.

Audio News Releases
To promote airings for an audio news release, DWJ will fax, e-mail and call our extensive list of radio contacts to encourage them to air the story. We can target the pitch based on demographics or market size.  Along with using our own database to do direct station pitching, we can distribute ANRs on Westwood One’s feed, which reaches some 7000 stations, USA Radio and Radio America’s syndicated news programming.  When you combine our direct station placements with these feeds and syndicated programming, the average radio listenership for our ANR projects usually falls between 5 and 10 million listeners.

Secured Media Placements
In addition to pitching your stories, we can buy airtime. TV and radio segments can be aired on ABC Radio, Radio Health Journal, The Daily Buzz, USA Radio, Radio America, DISH, DIRECTV, ION and Hearst.

Online/Podcasts
Social media has grown enormously in scope and public relations professionals can't ignore its potential impact. A podcast or a story on a Web site may not reach the numbers it will on TV or radio, but it will reach the people most interested in the topic. Tweets and Facebook postings offer additional media exposure.

DWJ launches any online effort with a wire release to reach thousands of major newspapers and broadcast media, financial and trade publications, online sites, databases and professional investor desktops. Podcasts can be posted to all the major video content, video search and podcast directory sites. DWJ's media experts can create an online distribution list targeted specifically to your audience and intensively pitch the content providers at each site individually. After pitching the story, we follow up with them and provide you with their feedback, along with tracking and reporting of online placements.

Spanish Outreach
We currently have three bi-lingual publicists dedicated to our Spanish language projects. Scripts and media alerts aren't just translated, they're revised to add relevancy to the Hispanic audience. Along with traditional media pitching, we can also place a link to a Spanish MNR on approximately 80 top national and local Spanish-language Web sites.
